Obituary of Irene Pinnell
Irene passed away on Nov. 7 at Royal University Hospital at the age of 96. She is survived by daughter Lynda Neudorf, son Lawrence (Bev) Pinnell; 5 grandchildren, Angie, Erin, Darin (Tanya), Lisa (Brent), and Danene; 7 great-grandchildren, Tanner, Logan, Megan, Cole, Emily, Landon, and Andrew, and numerous extended family of nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Sydney (1997), daughter Darlene (2007), grandson Duane (1989), and all her 7 brothers and sisters, Stella, Luella, Viola, Amy, Tony, Joyce, and Shirley. She was born at St. Boswell, Sask. on Aug 23, 1921, schooled in Wartime and married Sydney in 1943. They farmed and raised their family at Lucky Lake until moving to Saskatoon in 1996. Her life was full and involved as she had a passion for music, history, writing, church, gardening and her family. Most of all she loved people. She loved her time with the Red Hat Society, and when she turned 90 she joined the Century Club in Saskatoon. She was proud to be given the 1990 Volunteer Recognition Award for Heritage Conservation for her work in publishing “A Tree Grows on the Prairie”.
