We first met Gord in high school, where he and Ian played on the football team. After school we all spent many happy--and hilarious--hours playing bridge at the Jeffrey household. Gord was a superb bridge player and one with a sharp wit whenever "boneheaded" plays were made by his hapless partner, usually Brooke. Gord was also an excellent golfer. One of our favourite memories involves a camping/golfing trip to Waskesieu where many balls were lost to foxes and a moose, scores were sky high and the sun never shone, but a good time was had by all thanks to his sense of humour. That sense of humour was very much in evidence when he visited us in Ottawa after a lengthy trip to Europe and regaled us with stories of his misadventures, and again when we visited him in Phoenix. It never deserted him, as we saw more recently when we had dinner with him in Saskatoon. We can still see him sailing into the dining room with his walker, laughing and cracking jokes with the maitre'd. Although he will be missed, we know we were lucky to have known him for so long.
