Obituary of Gordon John Heywood
Gordon John Heywood of Saskatoon passed away peacefully on Monday, October 24, 2017 at St. Paul’s Hospital at 68 years of age. Gordon was predeceased by his parents Jack and Violet who were both 69 years old at their passing. Gordon was born on April 14,1949 in Saskatoon. He grew up in Saskatoon where he completed all his schooling. He was an active athlete in high school and was also a team member of the Hilltops. Gordon was very successful in running his Culligan franchise. Retiring early, Gord spent the summer months between his cottage in Shell Lake and his Saskatoon residence. He spent the winter months in Sun Lakes, Arizona. Golfing was his true passion and he was fortunate to have played many of the top courses in Canada and the United States. Gord met many friends on his golfing and goose hunting adventures. For many years Gordon was an active member of the Saskatoon Kinsmen Club where he made many life long friends. Gord greatly enjoyed hunting, and he was a master at entertaining. Every guest left in awe of his hosting abilities Gord had a one of a kind laugh which earned him the nickname ‘Hap’. Gord marveled that his birth date- April 14 - was the same as date as Abraham Lincoln’s assassination as well as the sinking of the Titanic. This way no one would ever forget his birthday. Gord had a multitude of friends, who will truly miss him.
