Obituary of Elizabeth Burgschmidt

Elizabeth Burgschmidt, beloved and dedicated wife of Heinz Burgschmidt, mother of Hans, Gordon and Linda, passed gently in her sleep on September 2, 2015. Feisty, generous, with a heart of gold, she touched people wherever she went, especially those at Sherbrooke Community Centre where she unwaveringly travelled almost to every day to see her beloved husband of 60 years. She is blessed with four beautiful grandchildren, Lisa and Kevin Burgschmidt, and Robbi and Gina-Marie Wirt. Recently her great grand-daughter Freya was born to Lisa Burgschmidt and Jordy Aucoin. She loved nature, her years hiking in Arizona, and got so much pleasure from rescuing recyclable items wherever she found them, and giving them to those in need. She cared for the environment, lived simply and lightly, appreciated the simple things life, and felt deeply the suffering of others. She had a sharp wit that could turn something simple and ordinary into something special. Her presence is deeply missed. Special thanks and gratitude to all those who assisted and extended kindness to Elizabeth in her last years.
