Apologies to Tammy about the bad English error. In my condolence message below, "Price" should read "Prize" whenever it appeared. Ernest

Sui Ma, to whom I always address him as "Sui Ma Gor" (Brother Sui Ma), as he is among the most handsome old boys from our class of 63/70 at Queen's College, Hong Kong.
During our secondary school years I had never come to know him close enough, but after our first reunion, we started to exchange E-mails, and his jokes posted on our common E-mail domain are the "must read" items in our exchanges.
During my depressing years, his encouragement through those bitter yet sweet and funny stories helped to ease my pain, and I returned by sending him my well wishes after knowing that he was not feeling well.
Words cannot describe how I feel for losing him. As a very lonely person, my classmates are like my brothers, albeit thin-blooded, losing any one of them is like losing a part of my soul and my memory.
On the day of his funeral, while I regret so much that I cannot come in person, I will go down to my watering hole, order two glasses of our favourite single-malt, with an empty seat next to me, I will drink my share and save the next one to him...this is, from my uniform days, our way of honouring departing comrades.
Good bye, Sui Ma Gor, I will miss you for the rest of my days.
Yours ever,
Peter M

I am totally devastated upon hearing the sad news of our classmate Sui Kui MA passing away. I have fond memories of a group of us classmates accompanying Sui Kui to visit his home town in Tai Shan, Guangdong, China, a few years ago. It was a fine day in December as we accompanied Sui Kui to reach the place where his ancestors had lived, under warm, bright and caring sunshine. Sui Kui was so excited that he climbed the ladder leading up to the attic to take a close look at the faded photos of his grannies, touching them with great affection. It was as though he had found his way back to his roots and he was happily home. Now he is resting in peace, happily back home in Heaven, in the loving arms of God. I can imagine he is now smiling at his family members, satisfied and fulfilled. I can also imagine he is now waving to us all too, to his good old friends, classmate acquaintances of more than 50 years.
I really miss Sui Kui. We classmates can tell how all of us so fondly miss him. His interactions with us on the Queen's College Old Boys 1963-1970 forum will be remembered for a long time to come. He was such a caring and fantastic Christian. His insightful messages always carried morals for our reflection. They were so encouraging and touching that they had warmed our hearts, showing how invaluable it was to have pure and sincere friendship under the guidance of our Lord.

Dear Tammy,
I was shocked when I read the message that Sui had left us. Events had moved too fast. I still owe him a picture, taken in May 1969, when he came back to Queen's College, our alma mater, to bid au revoir to the School before he flew off to Canada in August 1969. At that time, I was a still a student in the matriculation class. We met in the first floor corridor, and someone took the picture. After we were reconnected in 2005, I told him that I had found a vintage picture which he probably had not seen and asked if he would like to keep it. He asked me to give it to him when he returned to Hong Kong in 2013. By some strange reasons the picture was still waiting for his collection.
Earlier in 2016 when I heard he had health problems, I read again Sui's autobiography again in "Memories II" (collection of essays written by school-mates of the 1963-1970 vintage, Queen's College, Hong Kong). I wished to correct one point in his essay, that Sui actually won the first price (not 2nd price as he so said) in the Chinese Essay Open Competition organised by the Wah Kiu Yat Po, Hong Kong, 1964. I am absolutely certain about that because the second price went to me. Both of us then went together to the Newspaper in Hollywood Road to collect our cash prices.
So Sui was a high achiever even at boyhood. He and I were in the same class for two consecutive years, and Sui was my role model. He was gentle, polite, soft-speaking, approachable and helpful when fellow classmates had learning problems.
I shall miss him. May he rest in peace!

Dear Tammy and family,
I have known Sui Kui since 1964, and classmates in our school are like brothers, even now.
In 1968 we moved apart, and when I met him again, it was March 2012 when you both came to Sydney, and I met you at the airport.
We spent some good time together, and I found both of you very gentle and kind, and you gave Betty quite a bit of help. You have really set examples of good Christians.
I met Sui Kui again in Hong Kong in December 2013 at our Grand Re-union dinner gathering.
Early this year he mentioned about his cancer, and he remained very positive.
Surely the Lord has now accepted Sui Kui 息去世上勞苦, 歸於主懷。
We would like to express our most sincere condolences to you and your family.
