Obituary of Gerald Piprell

It with great sadness that we announce Gerry’s passing-husband, father, grandfather. He was born at Borden SK. to Charles and Dorothy Piprell, remaining on the homestead to farm for most of his life except to attend the University of Manitoba to study Architecture for three years. Gerry passed away on the anniversary of the death of his brother Flying Officer Gordon Piprell, shot down off the coast of Sweden in 1944. His love of flying earned Gerry his private pilot’s licence at age 56. Gerry sat on many Boards while living on the farm. In 2000 he and Carrol moved into Saskatoon where they became very involved at St. John’s Anglican Cathedral, devoting many hours working with recent refugees and becoming an active member of the “Peace” coalition. Gerry is survived by his wife Carrol, sons ; Shaun, Patrick, and Aaron (Jennifer) and grand daughters Allison and Isabelle.
