Obituary of Rudy de Figueiredo

It is with great love and sadness the family announce the passing of Rodival (Rudy) de Figueiredo, age 92, on January 4, 2024, just hours shy of his 93^rd birthday surrounded by family.  He is survived by his wife, life partner and greatest love of over 55 years, Justina.  His seven children, Jocelyne (Dale), Jasmine (Morgan), Terrence (Joanne), Nicole, Mindy (John), Cristina (Daniel), and Dina (Trevor); his seven beautiful grandchildren, Amanda, Delaney, Katherine, Elizabeth, Christopher, Rayna, and Ava; his two very precious great granddaughters, Vida and Lola; his sister, Esmeraldina; nephew, Jorge (Judy) and their children and grandchildren; and cousins in both Montreal & Portugal.

He was born on January 5^th, 1931 in Parada, Portugal, and will be repatriated to Portugal to lay in the family mausoleum next to his mother and father.  He introduced himself to all as… “O meu nome é Rodival, não a outro igual” cute as it rhymes in Portuguese, roughly translated as “my name is Rodival, and there is no other like me” …and so true. He will always be remembered for his positive energy, a skip in his step, addiction to real estate, love of Canada and preserving all that is good of his Portuguese heritage and language, adventurous spirit and love of life, travel, dance, and most importantly his family.
