Wanda was someone who told stories that were captivating and conveyed how, throughout her life, she had a keen sense of adventure, and to tried new paths. Her life was by no means an easy one. Nevertheless, she survived, and she grew from her life experiences.
She was a talented artist, whose caricatures captured the essence of her subjects, whether they were political figures such as Stephen Harper, and Bob Rae, or members of her family, especially her siblings. Her art was a document, chronicling her family and the times they lived in.
She had a talent for telling intriguing stories, with her index finger pointed towards the ceiling for dramatic effect, at the appropriate moment. They were told, with a note of seriousness combined with her uniquely wry sense of humour. And, there could be some interesting turns of irony.
A unique and very rich character.

I have fond memories of my Aunt Wanda going back to my childhood when she and I would sneak away from the often too-noisy living room and I would sit on her lap while she told me stories. She was always quieter then her siblings, but she was a character who would voice her opinions when asked. Later in life I enjoyed seeing her artwork, in which, with simple drawing and painting, she expressed quite clearly the personalities of people from family members to politicians. I will miss her greatly.
