Obituary of Sarah Isobel Burrows

On Saturday, October 7, Sally "Sarah" Isobel Burrows passed away at the age of 98. She was a coal miners daughter, wife and widow, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother . She took immense pride in her family and their accomplishments . She was fiesty, kind and abruptly honest.

Sally was a proud war bride and made Canada her home in 1946. Away from her close knit family and friends in England, she wrote countless letters to them and sent hundreds of pictures, keeping them informed of our lives as we grew up .

She will be missed by her daughters, Beverley(Greg) Broadbent, Georgia(George) Monkman, and her son Jeff Burrows. She left behind 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many friends at the Oasis Manor and the Widows Group.

Thankyou also to the staff at Sunnyside nursing home who made her last few months so enjoyable.

To all those who knew her “ Sally Was A Good Old Girl” is a great and fitting tribute to her love of dancing ! Dance on mom!

In accordance her wishes, there will be no funeral or service.  Her children will scatter her ashes this coming summer .
