I am saddened to hear of Dan's passing. I worked with him at Pharmasave in Qualicum Beach. He was truly a gem, so patient with me, with customers, and always kept his calm and his sense of humour.
Please know how highly he was valued and respected. My sincere sympathies to his loved ones.

I opened the Star Phoenix today (a couple of days behind) and see Dan's familiar smile looking at me. I remember Dan from Nipawin and Wakaw and here in Rosthern(No we did not intentionally follow each other around). It was great to run into Dan a couple of times again since he returned from BC. Same pleasant manner and welcoming voice.
My condolences to Vikki and Jillian and everyone missing Dan so suddenly.

Sir Dan was a kind and caring, special man who laughed easily and cared deeply. He loved his Vikki with his whole being. He was gentle, generous with his time, and made you feel heard and welcome. He rose above adversity, was brave and courageous when life wasn’t fair. He was our friend and one our favourite people in the entire world. He will be missed a great deal because he was so exceptional. He made our world a better place with his hopeful, positive nature. We will treasure our memories of him and know that he is with us in our hearts until we see him again. Vikki, please know that we are so grateful for loving you both. We are there for you always. Thanks to you both for making our world a kinder and more caring place. All our best to one of the best people we have known.

I am so saddened to hear of Dan's passing. My condolences to Vikki and all of his family. I had the pleasure of working with Dan at Pharmasave, in Qualicum Beach. He had such a calm nature and was very caring. I truly looked forward going to work, knowing he would be there. He will always be remembered by me as "Pharmasave Dan" .

Sorry to hear of Dan’s sudden passing, for us he was and always will be an extended family member, we looked forward to seeing everyone at gatherings where Dan was present and he was such a great person to talk to, he had a great sense of humor as well. He paused sometimes when you talked to him, he… pondered and considered what was being talked about and said by the other person(s) and would add what he thought. I also got to help him with the sod he wanted to put down, he took pride in everything he owned as well. We will miss his presence at gatherings in the future but one day we will all get to see him again and catch up and enjoy his wit and humor.
Vikki and family please accept our condolences

I am so sorry to hear the loss of my neighbor Dan. I had the privilege of having a Birds Eye view of the work done to their beautiful home from across the street. I remember the working bee when the sod was laid! I would see Dan often puttering around, mowing and watering the lawn, washing down his driveway and walking the neighbourhood. This lovely couple would often entertain on their deck and I knew that it was a home where love was! My sincere condolences to the family in this time of shock, bereavement and reminiscing.

So very sorry to hear of Dan's sudden passing.
Many many fond memories growing up with Dan in Waldheim from preschool to Grad 12, with Dan being the youngest and this year was our 50th grad anniversary.
Always so helpful and fun and always a great chuckle and smile.
Thank you Charles for the wonderful obit ... sending HUGS to ALL.
