Martin Atiemo passed away in the comfort of family, friends and the caring staff at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, SK on Thursday, June 29th, 2023, at the age of 72.

Martin is survived by his loving wife, Lucie Angela; eldest son, Andrew Kissiedu, his wife, Lisa and their two daughters, Aubrey, and Rowyn; son, Peter Gabriel along with his wife, Amanda and their son, Ephraim; his sisters, Rose and Amma; his brothers, Sam, and Joseph.

He is predeceased by his brother, Patrick, and his sister, Ester.

Martin Kofi Adu Adade was born on February 24th, 1951, in Akropong, Ghana. Spending his childhood in Ghana, he later pursued his post-graduate academic studies in Saskatoon, where he met his wife Lucie Angela Côté. Martin holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and other scholarly and professional accolades. Martin and Lucie were married on February 5th, 1982. Martin was an entrepreneur in the industrial hygiene consulting field.

Martin was part of several diverse and enriching communities. Martin was part of the SIAST, SIIT, and the U of S faculty of teachers. He was a loyal attendant of his local church – Faith Alive Ministries – where he also tutored students.

Martin had a passion for agriculture and food. When not teaching, you could find him caring for his tomatoes in the garden. He always had time to catch-up, lending a sincere ear and kind wisdom to everyone he met. When not in rubber boots, you could find him on the sidelines in proud support of his children and grandchildren’s events.

Martin had a strong faith in God, loved his family deeply, and always looked to do right by them. His most joyous times were felt in the company of his family and friends – laughing, eating, and sharing memories and life experiences.

There will be a Graveside Service for Martin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon, SK. We will meet at the cemetery gates and process in.
