My deepest condolences to Judy and family.Meryl will be so missed as many times getting a phone call as he was driving up the driveway for a visit.I was so greatfull as he let me always use a chunk of his land for planting a garden. It will be sad watching the garden grow as knowing Meryl will no longer stopping in for some veggies.Tomatoes was always his fave and if he wasnt stopping by,I enjoyed driving up the road for a visit with him in the shop.He was always mastering projects in his shop of interests...Much so going to miss Meryl as he was a great neighbour, and ever greatfull as needing something welded,he made time in his shop to help.Rest in Peace Meryl ,you were truly a great friend and will forever be missed.

I too want to send my love and sympathy to my wonderful cousins Lois and Lloyd and their families in the loss of your brother Meryl. We grew up together and shared so many family visits, always filled with much fun, laughter, table games, and food!
I will never forget those years.
May the peace of God be with you all.
Love Margie

My condolences to Judy and family. I'll never forget 'farmer Meryl' hired me on the spot 16 years ago. He asked, "Can you be here tomorrow?" Yes sir. I've been there ever since. He was certainly tough and expected a lot, yet fair and fiercely protective of his staff.

Meryl was my first professional mentor and gave me a chance when nobody else would. I will never forget how he taught not only me but all of us that were lucky enough to work with Meryl. I would not be where I am today without him. Meryl you will be missed and always remembered. Happy trails my friend. Much love to Judy

Our deepest condolences Judy. to you and your family and to Lois, Lloyd and their families. Meryl was a great friend and a very capable engineering colleague. We travelled many miles and worked together on many exciting projects (the Roger's Pass grade improvement and tunnel project was probably the most memorable) but his first love was farming - closely followed by fishing at Deschambault Lake with his family. He was thoughtful and generous - always putting others before himself. He had more than a lifetime of plans for work in his shop - and there are many Edsels that won't be restored or antique tractors that won't be restored. We all will miss him - but please reach out if e can be of assistance in any way, Wayne and Anita

I extend condolences to Meryl’s family on his passing. My first memories of Meryl are from the time he was doing his M.Eng. project work in the Hydraulics Lab at the U. of S. under the supervision of Prof. Smith in the mid-1970s. The smoke in his lab office was palpable! Over the years, we didn’t see each other often, but when we did we always enjoyed a bit of conversation and reminiscing.

Our memories of Meryl were those of a very gentle man who dearly loved his family as much as his farm. He was always kind and very thoughtful. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him very well and even those who only knew him a little.
May you Rest in Peace Meryl
