Dear Al and Family,
Please accept our sincerest sympathies on Joan’s passing. Unfortunately we were unable to attend her service but did virtually. What a wonderful eulogy that Karen gave on behalf of the family. We have many warm memories of being with Al and Joan on New Years Day at the Saskatoon Club and even attending a couple of the Jazz nights at Emma Lake.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Dear Jackie, Harry and extended family.
Sending sincere condolences on the passing of your Mom. Having just enjoyed the Cosmo breakfast I understand how passionate both your Mom and Dad were about enriching the lives of the folks at Cosmo. She must have been a wonderful lady because she raised a wonderful family. May the precious memories of her comfort you all in the days ahead.

My connection to Joan and Al is with the Hobby Band and the Ray Dahlen Sound. Whenever we met, I would describe her as warm, welcoming and genuine. She was a beautiful woman.

My deepest and sincere condolences to Al and immediate family, and extended family. Sorry to hear of Joan's passing. No matter how well you knew her, even if it was just a casual acquaintance or how much time had gone by since you'd seen her, Joan was always so welcoming and grateful that you went up to her and said hi. Her infectious smile put everyone at ease. God Bless you and keep you strong at this time and for moments to come.

May God be with you, Al and family, in this time of sorrow. I was conscripted at SLBI to help move Joan’s luggage into her dorm, and remember being in awe of her at the time, and becoming a friend and even eventually a member of the family through marriage. She was a strong witness to the love of Jesus throughout her whole life, and I am grateful to have known her. Cousin Ken Finnestad

We met Joan and Al when we rented the upstairs on Walmer Road where we enjoyed the family having been received with kindness and felt very welcome. Joan was a beautiful lady; over the years I would meet her at the fieldhouse or at the G for G's dinner. She has a special place in my heart as she was a friend to my mom and I being new to Canada. My deepest sympathy to the family.
