Lyle Lensen

Obituary of Lyle George Lensen

Lyle passed away on October 6, 2022 in St. Paul’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit. He spent his last afternoon surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife Irene, children Dora (Tom Hakl), Gwen (Hal Krienke), Gary (Cathy), numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, (Keith, Neil, Carole, Mary and Lynda).

Lyle retired from the government of Saskatchewan on May 31, 1987 after a career of almost 34 years of loyal and dedicated service. Lyle started his career as a Conservation officer and on his retirement, he held the position of Assistant Deputy Minister for Parks and Recreation. The nature of Lyle’s work gave the family the opportunity to experience many provincial parks as well as major cities. Lyle’s attitude was always positive when they needed to relocate and as long as they were together, they were happy. They eventually retired to Saskatoon to condo living. This move allowed them to be closer to Candle Lake where they loved spending their summers for many years. They spent their time fishing, golfing, boating and having wiener roasts with their family and friends.  On Lyle’s 65th birthday he showed he still loved it when he waterskied for the last time.  Mom and Dad celebrated their 67th-wedding anniversary on June 28 of this year.  Lyle was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was blessed with a long fulfilling life and he will always be in the hearts of the people that loved and knew him.
