Deepest sympathy to all of Mike's family and friends. Several years ago, we bumped into each other and ended up having lunch and a really good conversation. Aside from some changes to physical appearance, Mike was pretty much the same person I remember from those Buena Vista days when he wore those striped pants. I will miss him dearly.

Dear Cynthia and family,
We were so sorry to hear of Mike’s passing, we were clients of his for a very long time. Most of all he was a good friend. We were always interested in his family and interests outside of work and it was the same for him every time we talked. He will be missed by so many of us who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time.
Sincerely. Bob and Sharron Batt

It has been a privilege to be Mike and Cindy's 'across the street' neighbours for so many years, to watch each baby come home from the hospital, to get to know each family dog (especially the one who got scared by fireworks and ate her way through the gate in our back fence). Mike's comment, "Wow. Impressive!" Same comment when we saved the big candy bars to give to the kids at Halloween. As Mike pursued the goal of the best front lawn grass, we cheered his success. Whether working in the yard or walking the dog, there was always time to chat, at the very least a hearty wave. We always enjoyed the invites to 'social good' parties. We ran into Mike walking his Belle in the alley just a short time ago, and he took the time to tell us what Cindy, Casey and Davis were up to. He always made sure to say hello to Jim by name and have a chat. The neighbourhood will not be the same and we'll miss him.

Cynthia & family,
I was so very saddened to hear of Mike’s illness and his passing.
As I no longer live in Saskatoon, I have not seen Mike for years (not since our 25th year high school reunion years ago), but we "grew up together”.
Mike and I went to school together - both public and high school and we lived down the street from each other.
I’ll always remember his dry sense of humour and his gentle, kind & fun manner.
It is clear that he became a wonderful husband and father.
I hope you all find comfort cherishing your memories of Mike.
Sincerely, Jonna Smith

No words can ever take away your heart break. I but share my deepest condolences and empathy, as you numbly walk this loss beyond compare. Please know we stand with you as you need. Silvia Martini

Sorry to hear of Mike's passing. Mike was such a great guy with varied passions and interests. We shared discovering bands in the 70's and 80's like Depeche Mode, Squeeze, The Police, Elvis Costello, etc. His humour was also exceptional. You could always could on Mike to throw well timed wit into a conversation. Mike also helped me with my savings and investment strategies as we started our adult lives and responsibilities. A good guy gone too soon. Condolences to Cindy, Casey and Davis.

Mike was my advisor in the Mid 1990s when he was over at Scotia-M. Mike introduced me to the world of investing and I did well investing with him. He was always a bit of an optimist: I remember he bought some Bre-X shares as they tumbled towards worthless. Thanks Mike. Too soon.
