It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Edward Kloeble on Sunday October 25th, 2020 at the age of 80.
He was predeceased by his parents Max and Ida, his parents-in-law Jack and Kay Huber, his brother Wally, daughter-in-law Chantal Buchanan and nephew Jerry Miko. He is lovingly remembered, by his wife of 55 years Jean (Huber). He will also be dearly missed by his children Wendy, Brent (Nancy), Cindy, Debbie (Jack) Sargeant and grandchildren Kendra and Jordan Sargeant, brother Joe (Oma), sister-in-law Barb Kloeble, brother-in-law Dennis Huber, sister-in-law Jacqueline (Don) Miko and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was born and grew up in Saskatoon, attending both St. Mary’s elementary school and St. Paul’s High School.
He began his career as a butcher at Empire Meats, eventually buying Emco Finer Foods which he owned and operated for 38 years. This thriving retail meat/ catering business provided a stable livelihood for several employees. In 1988, he designed, built and owned Saskatoon 16 West RV Park. He ran this reputable, successful, family-owned business for 20 years. It was awarded the Customer Service Business Excellence Award by Tourism Saskatchewan in 2001. For 30 years he was owner and breeder of some 50 Standard-Bred horses, many of whom made their mark in the Canada/US racing circuit. He created the Yellowhead Water Corporation which was instrumental in bringing city water to 18 businesses in Corman Park.
He was a true audiophile building his own sound equipment and listening to music daily. He enjoyed outdoor activities, such as playing countless rounds of golf and tennis.
He had some very close lifelong friends who often marveled that Ed never had a bad word to say about anyone.
Vigil of Prayer will be held 7 pm Thursday evening at Saskatoon Funeral Home. Please note limited capacity. If you wish to attend, call ahead to reserve a spot 306-244-5577.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul’s Co-Cathedral at 10 a.m. Friday, October 30th. with Rev. Fr. Stefano Penna as Celebrant. Due to covid protocols, there will be a 100 person seating limit, first come first served, and no reception. Live streaming can be accessed through St. Paul’s Co-Cathedral’s webpage.
