Joyce Oxnard passed from this life on earth to her new life in Heaven with her beloved Lord and Saviour on October 19, 2020.

Joyce was born on February 5, 1931 in England where she obtained her RN, Midwifery and Queen's Nursing training and experience. She immigrated to Newfoundland, Canada in 1957 and then while nursing with the Victorian Order of Nurses in Toronto received her Public Health Diploma from the U of T.

After 15 years of nursing, God called her into the ministry and for the next 25 years she was involved in Church Planting and pastoring churches with the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada, serving in the Northwest Territories, Alberta and Saskatchewan. She continued to serve the Lord in many ways in spite of vision and hearing loss and eventually the onset of Alzheimer's Disease.

Joyce was always ready for something new and travelling and holidays were always special events. Family was always very important to her.

Joyce was predeceased by her Mother and Father, and step Father, three sisters, Lillian and Joan and Katherine, and sister-in-law, Edith Oxnard. She is survived by her brother, Derek and his family, Denise, Richard (Shirley), Andrew (Samantha) and great nieces, Carly, Courtnay, Bethany and Maisie, all in England and Scotland. She will also be missed by her Canadian families, the Milnes, the Andersons and the Macphersons and Kellners, and her longtime friend and colleague, Betty (Blake) Anderson, as well as friends across the country.

Thanks to the staff of Samaritan Place for the care given to Joyce during the last months of her life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to First Baptist Church, Saskatoon or Samaritan Place. The funeral service will be held at Saskatoon Funeral Home. Livestreaming of the service will begin at 10:30 am on Saturday, October 24, 2020. To view the livestream, visit Joyce’s obituary page at www.saskatoonfuneralhome.com and click on the link.
