Our family often talked about missions growing up. One year at the church, Canada's Northern mission work in Inuvik NWT that Joyce and Betty were leading was highlighted. My sons had a picture of Joyce and Betty hung in their room and would pray for them. It allowed them to see that Canada could be a place of mission too not just in other foreign countries.

I have wonderful memories of Joyce during her ministry with Betty at FBC in Yorkton..
We were so sorry to loose them to the North West Territories, but they felt God was calling them back there.
She was a beautiful soul, and I was priveleged to know her.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
Sincerely,
Gordon and Mille Gryschuk

Growing up in First Baptist Church Saskatoon, I was extremely lucky to have known and been loved by Joyce ever since my birth. Joyce loved every member of our youth group as if we were her own family. To her family across the ocean, I send my deepest condolences for the loss of such a kind and loving woman. To Betty and Blake and all those who loved Joyce here in Canada, please know how grateful I am for the love that was poured into me. I'm thankful Joyce can be with our Heavenly Father and I pray that you all find the peace you need.

On behalf of the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada, we offer our deep gratitude for the many years of faithful service Joyce offered in planting and pastoring churches in Swift Current, Grande Cash, Inuvik, Fort St. John and others. She and Betty Milne Anderson were humble, gentle and faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We offer condolences to her remaining family as well as her cherished friends who will miss her dearly.
