The theme that runs through all my memories of Jim is that of laughter, always a big, beautiful, infectious smile, a twinkle in his eye and laughter. Such a joyous spirit, so full of life. Just being in his presence always filled me with Joy.
I chose the candle of Peace as that is what I wish for him, to rest in the arms of Peace, knowing how many, many lives he touched with his love and his laughter and we are all so much better for it. I am so grateful to have had time with him and as few and far between as those times were, they are indelibly imprinted on my memory. He will be missed !
Extending my condolences, with so much love, to Mona and family.
Jo-Anne

What a beautiful service of remembrance for such a great man!
Some memories I (Rita) have with Jim would be our shared love of ice cream, church boards together including the one he stepped down off of because he knew he couldn't fulfil his obligations on it any more, many curling games, and skating together on the curling ice at the end of the season. I loved that man even though I didn't have him as a teacher.
I (Darryl) remember your dad as a great teacher and principal but later on got to know him as a friend. I enjoyed curling and visiting after church.
He touched our family's lives. When we told our daughter that he passed away she said that it was like losing another Grandpa to her. Thank you for sharing your dad, husband & grandpa with the rest of the world. He touched a lot of lives!

I was very sadden to hear of Uncle Jim’s passing. I wish that we could all gather to say goodbye to Uncle Jim and to share the many wonderful memories that we all have of him. I remember with great fondness all the late evening card games; camping at Rowans Ravine; Christmas gatherings that always needed “turkey buns” just hours after we had eaten supper; the jokes, the quips and the never ending banter and the drives to Strasbourg with the anticipation of the fun to be had at Aunt Mona and Uncle Jim’s. There was never a dull moment when Jim was around. My condolences to Mona; Deb & Terry; Robin & Cheryl; Pat & Angie and family. Thinking of you today. Cheryl & Tim McGinn

I was just thinking about Jim and Mona the other day so I was so sorry to see the announcement of his passing. He was my grade 6 teacher and one of my favourites. He was also a mentor to me when I began my teaching career and we continued to see each other at the provincial retired teachers annual meetings. Mona was also one of my favourite teachers. It has been an honour to continue a relationship with these two from student to colleague to retiree over 55 years. My deepest sympathies to Mona and the family. Jim was a treasure. May he enjoy his heavenly home.

Sorry to read about the passing of my super math teacher Jim Jamieson when he taught school in Minton, Saskatchewan. Jim put the foundation under me to eventually own and operate six different business establishments in my 46 years as a small business man. And thanks to you Mona for teaching me as a young boy "how to type".
My condolences to you and your family.

This photo says it all-that wicked smile and those dancing eyes-what a character! Mona and Jim were the first family Doug introduced me to in Saskatoon because he admired them so much. We had so many laughs together and were lucky enough to have them visit us in Paris in 2000. What fun we had sharing our excitement of the city with them.
For the Christmas of 1999 we accepted an invitation from Pat and Angie to spend it with them in The Hague. Their generosity showed once again the family values that Mona and Jim taught.
On a personal note, Jim became principal at the school in Semans where my Aunt Agnes Smith had been memorialized with a plaque.
Mona and Family we send our very sincere sympathy for this loss. Jim will be sorely missed by all of you.
Sincerely,
Donna and Doug Lynd.

My memories of Jim were always one of those which brought smiles and laughter to us.... my mother didn’t like her name Beatrice Fanny.... Jim loved to come in to contact with my mom especially in our house at the farm at McAuley give my Mom a big hug and say How’s life Auntie Beatrice Fanny??.... my Mom would try to put on her angry face but facing Jims grin she would just say....darn you Flap Doodle....this was her expression for damn you Jim!!!
