Obituary of Jo-anne Margaret Steuart

It is with profound sadness that the family of Jo-anne Margaret Steuart announce her sudden passing on August 31, 2020. Jo-anne was born in Prince Albert on January 25, 1948, the eldest child of Joe and Stella (nee Hinitt) Steuart. Jo-anne is survived by her brothers Cam and Tim and sister-in-law Marian. She is also survived by her long time friends, and second family, Peggy and Ed Drader and their children (Scott, Chris, Jaime, and Curtis) and grand-children.

Jo-anne was pre-deceased by her father Joe (1963), mother Stella (1996), and beloved son Christopher (1988). Jo-anne graduated from Prince Albert Collegiate Institute, Holy Family Hospital School of Nursing, and the University of Saskatchewan. She pursued her passion, a career in pediatric nursing, at Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert and St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, where she rose to the position of Head Nurse on the pediatric ward. The loss of her son was devastating to Jo-anne and she has now, at long last, been reunited with her precious Christopher.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Dr, Aaron Friggstad, Betty Sandulak and the wonderful staff at Lynn’s Care Home for their excellent care and compassion. In honour of Jo-anne, please do something today to make a child feel special. A celebration of Jo-anne’s life will be held when safe to do so.
