In 1953 Vincent with his mother and sister and myself along with my mother and sister made the long trip from Italy to Montreal by ship. From there we boarded a train to Alberta. Being new to Canada our families spent a lot of time together. Later in the 1950s when Vincent’s family purchased a TV set, we would spend virtually every Sunday night at their home watching Ed Sullivan show and Bonanza.
Vincent was very talented, when he was 7 or 8 the local theatre had a colouring contest for school children. He won for the best coloured picture of Old Yeller. The grand prize was 6 free tickets to see the movie. Vincent gave tickets to my sister and me. Monopoly was a popular game especially during our younger years. Vincent drew us a Monopoly board on a piece of cardboard complete with cards and monopoly money. I still recall how impressed I was.
After Vincent and Tina’s marriage in England in 1975 they had a wedding reception in Edmonton. The reception was held in the same location that we had held our wedding reception several years before. Sometimes the world is smaller than we think.
More important than these memories are the facts that Vincent was always a kind, caring and very likeable person.
Tina our condolences to you and the family.

Dear Tina,
I just want to say how sorry we are for your loss. I can’t imagine what you must be going through, but I know your family will be there for you - and you, them. Hugh wanted to remember our fabulous canoe trip with you two, and that amazing picnic lunch - you certainly knew how to do things right! - and when you took the time from your kayak trip to visit us on Galiano Island...it was so much fun to hear all about your adventures!
Please know we are thinking of you....
Love,
Mary and Hugh

I was honoured to be asked by Vincent to be his 'compare' (best man) when he married Tina in England in 1975. He was a wonderful family man and dear friend. Rest in peace, Vincent. Hugh (London, U.K.)

As one of Vincent's older cousins, I can say that I've known him since birth. He was a lovely boy with a sweet temperament and grew up to be a kind and gentle man. He was a wonderful husband and father and I treasure all of the happy family occasions that we shared, particularly the Christmas visits to Edmonton. May he rest in peace. With love, Adriana (Albi) Davies
