Many memories of my oldest brother Mel. One that stands out is when I was about 12 years old staying at the farm with Mel, Marlene and the children. Mel.’s German shepherd disappeared. He was sure a coyote or wolf had gotten his dog. Mel and I set out to look for it in the middle of winter. Unfortunately, we never found the dog but I remember our special time we spent together.
Love you Mel. Going to miss you.

I am so sorry for your loss and wish I was there to give and gett all the hugs that are much needed. One of my favorite memory of Uncle Mel was the time we were out there in the basement as kids and he was showing me his grandpas banjo and we went out to see his cats and cows. He was definatly a character and had many stories and oppinions. I am thinking of you all on this day and always. I feel at ease and hope you do knowing he is now with his mom and dad and brother in heaven as our guardian angel. Xoxox hugs and Love from the kids and I.

I just heard of Mel's passing. So sorry for your loss! I remember how nice he was to us kids in our younger years when we would attend Carol's birthday parties and take us to the 'drive-in' theatre. My deepest sympathy to you all! Elaine Unrau

We got to know Mel while he was in the hospital - we enjoyed our many visits and even though we knew each other for such a short time it felt we had been friends forever. He made us feel special. He was a man with a big heart.
We could tell how much you cared for Mel by the many hours you spent by his bedside.
We will continue to pray for you.
