Jack MacDonald passed away peacefully at the age of 97, with his daughters by his side.
Jack was born in Grayson, SK. After graduating from the College of Commerce in 1943 Jack joined the RCAF serving as a Pilot Officer. He was discharged in 1945.
He married Carol Wells in 1946. They were happily married for 63 years until Carol’s passing in 2009.
Jack had a long and successful career as a Chartered Accountant and retired as senior partner of Price Waterhouse Saskatoon. He was very active in the Saskatoon community giving his time to numerous boards and organizations. He was a faithful member of both the Second Street and Knox United churches.
Upon retirement, our parents travelled extensively and spent their winters in Sun Lakes, Arizona and summers in Waskesiu. Golf was Jack’s passion. He was a long time member of the Riverside Golf and Country Club and was very proud of his six hole-in-ones. His love of golf is a legacy embraced by his succeeding generations.
Family was everything to our dad. He passed on to his family his love, faith, values, respect and the importance of giving.
He will be sorely missed by his three daughters; Joan MacDonald, Linda (Rod) Churchman, and Barb (Mark) Wouters, his grandchildren; Shelley Wilson (Robert Holben), Rob (Lisa) Wilson, Sarah (Dalys) Buck, Ian (Lindsay) Churchman, Colin (Jesse) Churchman and Adam (Cheyanne) Churchman, his great-grandchildren; Ethan, Blake, Asher, Carsyn, Noah, Aiden, Jayda, Owen, Paityn, Jack and Kate, his sister-in-law Louella MacDonald and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his only brother Ken.
We wish to thank the staff at Stonebridge Crossing and St. Paul’s hospital for their compassion and excellent care. In lieu of flowers our dad had requested donations be made to Elmwood Lodge, 2012 Arlington Avenue. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 27 at the Saskatoon Funeral Home.
