It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Lydia Howell on July 21, 2019. She was in a motor vehicle accident near Three Hills, Alberta. She was born in Sault Ste Marie, ON on March 15, 1947 and grew up there. She moved to Saskatoon in 1975 and worked for Sears for 25 years, as well as Praireland Casino. She volunteered with the Saskatoon School board as Lunch Lady Lydia, the Canadian Deafblind Association, and organized the walking program for the Special Olympics for many years. She had a love of ballroom dancing through the University of Saskatchewan. She loved to sing with Magic City Chorus and Joy of Vox. She is predeceased by her husband Vern. Lydia will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Marion (Galen) Enns of Calgary, Shauna (Stephen) Cutcliffe of Calgary, and Jacqueline (Karen) Husky as well as her grandchildren Murray and Thomas Carroll, Seth and Max Enns, and Hannah and Emma Cutcliffe; as well as numerous sister, brothers, nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Lydia’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 31 at 2pm at Nutana Park Mennonite Church (1701 Ruth Street East). In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to Special Olympics.
