I don’t have the words to express how sad I am that Lydia is gone. She was so happy, thoughtful, kind, generous, and more. I always thought she would live forever. From all the comments it’s obvious that she made a lot of people’s lives better just by being herself. I was a sitter for her family when I was a teenager and I will never forget how she made me feel like one of the family. I felt like I had been adopted and she always made me feel like I was special. Lydia never left anyone out and made everyone feel special. I will miss her a lot. I am so sorry Marion, Shauna, and Jacquie. My deepest sympathies to you and the rest of your family. Carla

Dear Family, Please know how saddened and shocked we were to learn of Lydia's death - we could hardly believe it! Lydia was a very dear lady to us, as she organized and ran the Master Track Walking Club (Special Olympics - Saskatoon) of which our daughter has been a part of for many years. Lydia was the bright beam, the cheerful face, and a very dear friend to all of the participants in this group. Monday nights will be a little different now, and she will be missed, dearly. We will keep her memory alive though, and we are holding all of you in our hearts and prayers, as you face the days and months ahead. May the Lord walk with each of you as you grieve and remember her, and may He hold you tightly to His heart, covering you with love and strength to face what you must. We are so very sorry for your loss, she was a very dear lady and we will miss her.
With love and prayers for all of you, Richard & Rachel Buchholz and Vanessa Buchholz (Walking Club Participant)

Lydia was a big, beautiful, joyous personality. Generous with her time, her friendship, her laughter. I'm so glad she kept in touch with me after my time in Saskatoon and with Magic City was done. I looked forward to her visits and phone calls when she was in Calgary. Hey Lydia, it's all about that bass! Love ya!

My heartfelt condolences to all of Lydia’s family and friends. While I never met Lydia personally, I have had the privilege of spending some time with her daughter, Marion. To raise such a kind, caring, funny and loving-life woman as Marion, Lydia must have been a pretty phenomenal woman herself. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
