Christopher James Postle
1973 - 2019
It is with profound sadness that the family of Christopher Postle announces that he took his own life on Tuesday, July 16, 2019. Words cannot express the sorrow we feel. Chris was so loved and made such an impact on the lives he touched. Chris was predeceased by his mother Judy in 2001 and is survived by his father Art, step-mother Janet, sister Stacey (Del) Norman and their children Connor and Madeline, step-brother Dave (Laura) Williams and their children Joshua and Samantha, step-sister Karen (Matthew) Hardy and their son Dwight, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family.
Chris was raised in Saskatoon and attended River Heights Elementary School and Marion Graham Collegiate. He graduated from the Theater Studies Program at Red Deer College and achieved his Bachelor of Education at the University of Alberta and immediately launched his teaching career at Jasper Place High School in Edmonton.
Chris was an incredibly dedicated educator and his life revolved around his teaching, students, colleagues, and school. He wanted the best possible experience for his students and worked to help them become the best version of themselves. He selflessly served others, with his big heart and fun loving light-hearted nature. Life at Jasper Place High School was so much more than a job – it was his second family.
Chris was a dedicated musician and guitar player, and loved kayaking, golfing and working out. He loyally followed his teams the Roughriders and the Oilers, and was known as the king of selfies.
Family times were extremely important to Chris. As the favorite uncle he treated Connor and Maddy as his own. He so loved and looked forward to the annual Christmas family trips to Mexico and the summer family Canada Day celebrations in Saskatoon. Chris will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by family, friends, colleagues, and students.
For those so wishing memorial donations in Chris’s honour can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association (2701 12th Ave. Regina SK S4T 1J2 www.sk.cmha.ca) The Memorial Service will take place on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 1:30 pm at Knox United Church in Saskatoon.
