With sadness we learned of Uncle Eric’s passing and send our deepest sympathy to Auntie Kay and all the immediate family. The visits we had with Uncle Eric are cherished memories, particularly when he gave us hand-made pen and pencil sets. I remember his kind words – the pen and pencil are not to look at, they are to be used and enjoyed. During my childhood, my mother Johanna (Johannson) would talk of her wonderful family and their childhood life on the farm. We are thinking of you and send our condolences.

Auntie Kay, Heather and Gerald, Terry and Janice , Auntie Margaret and Uncle Don and their families. Uncle Eric will be missed by you all.
His quick wit and sense of humour set him apart from others, we could listen for hours to his stories and laugh or cry as appropriate. The magnificent carpentry work and his ability to fix things were incredible . He was also quite the schemer as he tried many times to entice us to move to Saskatchewan.
Family came first and his memorable dogs were all part of that family.
We will miss him.

Our sympathies to the Johannson family on the passing of Eric Johannson. He will be remembered by his wittiness, and always a kind word when you met him. The construction industry has lost an icon. He was one of the best superintendents in the industry. He will be missed by all who knew him
Rest In Peace my friend.

Uncle Eric was the most amazing person to me and I am sure to many, many others. I am so sad to hear of his passing on. I was hoping to see him and you dear Auntie Kay this summer. Prayers going up for you Auntie Kay and Heather, Terry and families for God's comfort and peace at this time and ahead.
I have so many wonderful memories of Uncle Eric, going back to childhood. And, I had the honour of being a 'flower girl' at your wedding as you will recall Auntie Kay! The photo and memories of that event will be cherished always.
Uncle Eric and Aunt Kay were always loving and ready to help. We shared a deep love of God's special creations ...our dogs. And I will always remember when he and you helped me out when Rambo my Rottweiler died of cancer at the Saskatoon Veterinary College hospital. I was working on my PhD and it had been necessary for me to return back to Edmonton leaving Rambo in medical care there. He had aggressive cancer and I had to make the difficult decision from 300 miles away to have him euthanized. Uncle Eric and Auntie Kay in loving, caring compassion decided with me that they would go to Saskatoon and pick dear Rambo up (not an easy feat either, he was 120 pounds live weight), take him home to the farm at Asquith, and Uncle Eric would build a coffin for him. And wow! That coffin was so beautiful...magnificent cedar and perfectly, lovingly created. Uncle Eric had stored Rambo well until I could come to their home and get him. He helped load Rambo in the coffin into my van so I could take him to the Hendrickson farm and have him buried. Truly Uncle Eric was the most wonderful, loving caring person. I will miss him dearly.
My condolences as well to Auntie Margaret and Uncle Don Ottman, Auntie Joyce and all family and friends who are grieving the loss of this precious person who was such a blessing in our lives.

My family and I are saddened by the passing of my Uncle Eric. I know my Dad, Herb loved and respected Eric as we do and Eric will be in our hearts forever.
Aunty Kay was his true friend, wife and companion and his many joys in this world was spending time with Kay, his kids and grand-kids.
Unfortunately Judy and I cannot attend the funeral service but our thoughts and prayers are with my cousins and Aunt at this difficult time.

Our sympathies to all of you, Eric’s family! We appreciate so much that we knew him as he was, a truly loving, very talented man! His great love for each one of you was so obvious as he put his carpenter skills to use, making treasured things for his grandkids! May your precious memories bring you warmth & peace!

To The Johannson Family; We are so sorry to learn of Eric’s passing and reflect on our Wadena roots; hockey in the old arena, Eric and Kay, as proud parents of babies, Heather, Terry and Ernest, Eric working at North American Lumber – and forever best buds with Eric’s kid sister, Margaret. Though we no longer live at Wadena, we treasure our connection through the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you at this sad time in your lives.

My deepest condolences to Auntie Kay, Heather, Terry and your families.
Uncle Eric was my bigger than life connection to my Dad… he was so very much like him in so many ways. He and Auntie Kay were all about family. It didn't matter that we were in BC and were only able to come to Sask. occasionally. For him, it was simple. We were family and welcomed us with open arms, entertained us with his multitude of stories and words of wisdom. I think he knew the answer to everything, but if he didn't, he'd be very convincing as he weaved an appropriate answer. His quick wit guaranteed an interesting story!
We will all miss you so very much, Uncle Eric. And we will definitely never forget you!
