Obituary of Doris Colleen Firor

Doris Colleen Firor (nee Caverly) passed away peacefully on April 8, 2019 at RUH in Saskatoon. Doris was born in Belleville, Ontario and grew up in Madoc, Ontario where she lived with her parents Mel and Jesse, and brother Bill. After completing high school Doris moved to Ottawa where she earned her Registered Nurse credentials from Ottawa Civic Hospital. She subsequently moved to Baltimore where she worked as a surgical nurse at Johns Hopkins and met her future husband Dr. Whitmer Firor Jr.  

Doris and Whit moved form Baltimore to Toronto and then to Saskatoon in 1966 where they lived for the rest of their lives. 

Following Whit's death in 1995, Doris went on to marry Dr. Thomas MacLachlan and enjoyed 13 happy years until his passing in 2009. 

Doris was passionate about cats, travel, art, badminton and tennis. She was an active member of the racquet court community for many years and was ranked nationally. 

Doris is survived by her three children Carley (Allan), Jonathan, Per (Billie Anne) and four grandchildren Christopher, Leon, Aaron and Madison. She is also survived by her beloved cat Babe.
