From Milton and Sharon Phenneger;
We discovered this sad news about Whit and Doris two years late and many years after we enjoyed their friendship. We still fondly remember Doris and Whit as good friends in Saskatoon in early 70's. We lived on Temperance Street. Milt was a Physics Post Doctoral Researcher and Sharon worked in the Medical College Library. We played tennis and squash with Doris and Shin Qui Hui at the city tennis courts and University squash courts and Whit took me(Milt) for a flight over Duck Lake one evening in a Piper Cherokee. Carly then a teenager, was our infant son Michael's baby sitter on Sunday afternoons while we cross country skied on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River with other friends. Whit and Doris visited our home in Harpers Ferry WV in 1982 and we visited Whit and his father in his father's Baltimore home near that time. I will add a photo of the Whit and Doris as we remember them, with Sharon and sons Michael and Stephen and the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers in Harpers Ferry WV in 1982.

Dear Per and Family,
We were deeply saddened to learn that Doris had passed away. She was a wonderful person and a dear friend. We had so much in common and shared a wealth of experiences. We shall cherish those precious memories. Regretfully, we were unable to attend the funeral service, but we were there in spirit. Please accept our sincere condolences.
