Sincere condolences to Leslie and Michaela, and Dick and Rose.
It was with great sadness that I heard of the death of Scott Beck.
Scott and I were very close as young men. Many of my best memories of that time start with “This one time, Scott and I….”
We lost touch over the years and that is something I sincerely regret. I will always consider him one of my dearest friends.

I did not know Scott well or for a long period, but I met him through scuba diving and enjoyed that association. I admired Scott for his enthusiasm and his dedication to the sport. I was saddened to hear of his passing, and know that we divers will miss him, but our loss pales in light of the loss you have experienced. I would like to express my most sincere condolences, and those of Adele Perrett, to family and friends. Time may ease the sorrow, but it will never replace the loss. Our thoughts are with you.

I’m so sorry to hear of this very sad news. I worked with Scott at the U of S and he was always a very cheerful happy guy. He adored and boasted of his beautiful daughter sharing photos of her. He was so very proud to be a dad. My deepest sympathies to his loved ones. He was far too young to leave this world.

Leslie and Michaela, we are so sad to hear of Scott’s passing. When we would take Hope to daycare in the mornings, our paths would often cross with Scott as he dropped off Michaela. It was always such a pleasure to see him, he had such a great sense of humour and smile and we could see his obvious love for Michaela. It was clear that he was an amazing husband and father. You have been in our thoughts so much this past week and we are so very sorry for your loss.
Sending you our love and hugs,
Caitlin, Mike, Hope, and John

My wife, Pam, and I first got to know Scott Beck at Luther College High School in Regina, where we were all classmates.
With his beach blonde hair and positive attitude, Scott was very easy to be friends with, and he had lots of them. He was kind, easygoing and patient; with Scott you never felt like you were being judged or weren’t “cool” enough, he just wanted to be your friend. Scott regularly invited his friends over to his house, and I can recall his parents were always very kind and very gracious—and, surely, very patient—hosts to us, this gaggle of sometimes-unruly teenage boys on the cusp of manhood.
As tends to happen, Scott and I drifted apart in the years after high school, but for a while there we’d still see each other frequently enough that I got to know and admire Leslie. Although we eventually lost contact altogether, I always remembered Scott and Leslie fondly, and it was literally just a couple of weeks ago that I looked Scott up online. I was so happy to see that he and Leslie got married (finally!) and had a beautiful daughter who Scott clearly loved, and I was very impressed to learn about Scott’s diving accomplishments. So what a shock when another classmate, Joel Boesch, texted me the other morning to tell me Scott was gone – he’d just been on my mind!
To Leslie, Michaela, Scott’s parents and the rest of their family and friends, Pam and I extend our deepest condolences. Scott left a happy mark on our lives, and on the lives of so many others. He will be remembered fondly and he will be missed by many, and I hope in this you are able to find some measure of comfort and happiness. (Leslie and Michaela, there is a Luther class reunion in 2020. I hope that you will attend on Scott’s behalf.)
With love, sadness and deepest condolences,
Aaron Scherle and Pam Husak
