Obituary of Russell James Wild
Wild – Russell Wild beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather passed away peacefully on July 12th, 2018 at the age of 70. He is survived by Linda, his wife of 49 years, his 2 sons Chris (Jamie) and Curtis (Jasmine) and grandsons Ryan, Austin, Jackson, Charlie and Davis. He was predeceased by his Father Bud, his Mother Doris, his Brother Mick and his Step Father Leo Belecque.
Russ started his career as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic in Saskatoon. He later moved to Pine Point NWT, then to Edmonton before moving back to Saskatoon. He started working as a Mechanic at Rabbit Lake and later moved to Radiation & Safety. In addition to Safety Tours and writing procedures, he trained the Mine Rescue teams. Russ was very proud when his team won the Fire Fighting segment at the Provincial Mine Rescue Competition. Meeting new people and solving problems were things he loved. After leaving the Mine he worked at The House of Tools, a job he truly enjoyed. Unfortunately, his health declined, and he was forced to retire.
The family would request that in lieu of flowers, Donations be made to either the Diabetes Foundation, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
A memorial will be held Saturday July 21st, 2018 at 2 P.M. at the Edwards Family Centre.
