To The Wild Family:
Way back in time at the beginning of the Rabbit Lake / Wollaston Lake Mine in the days of Gulf Minerals ownership, way before Cameco ownership this fellow Russ Wild appeared in the dining hall fresh off the plane full of enthusiasm and questions.
When we got up to the shop he was listening to one of our haul trucks run and questioned who had tuned the engine - - - obviously it wasn't running running up to par.
So - - - Russ took on the task of tuning that V12 Detroit Diesel engine to the max.
Hence he became the guy to go to for procedures in tuning, always willing to share his knowledge with his fellow workers and trained many mechanics in the art of tuning those fussy Detroit Engines.
Russ was an excellent dedicated mechanic. .
It was always serious work while on the shop floor and fun times during coffee and meal breaks - - - lots of laughs - - - we were all pretty young back then.
Wow - - - the memories!
It was a pleasure working and socializing with Russ the 4 years I was at that mine.
I know his family and friends will miss Russ, he was a good guy to all.

Dear Linda & Family:
I was saddened to read of Russ' passing. He was a good friend and colleague as Safety Officer with Cameco, our mutual employer. It eventually was my pleasure to know him as his personal family doctor. Our appointments were often as much social as medical. He had a way of making an uplifting experience of our visits. We laughed a lot. I missed Russ in my retirement.
I want to offer my sincere condolences to your family.
