Obituary of William George Nelson

NELSON, WILLIAM GEORGE (BILL)

William George Nelson (Bill), passed away peacefully at the age of sixty nine on May 6, 2018, surrounded by family. He was predeceased by his parents Hazel and Bert Nelson. Bill is survived by his children Leanne Nelson (Tim Smith) and Christopher Nelson, his grandchildren Gee and Jinnoah Smith, his sister Sue Hicks (Jerry VanLambalgen),and his children's mother Brenda Aikenhead (Glen). He is also lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and all those who were family in his heart. Bill was an avid golfer at Moon Lake, and he also loved to curl, fish and bowl. Some of the family's best memories are from the cabin at Jackfish  Lake.  He was involved with the Kiwanis Club for many years. He worked in the electrical supply industry and retired from AIM Electric in 2017. He was a friend and mentor to many and will be missed by all who knew him.
There will be a celebration of Bill's life on Sunday, May 27, 1:00-3:00pm, at the German Cultural Centre, 160 Cartwright Street. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask you to consider a donation in Bill's name to the St. Paul's Hospital Foundation, and direct it to the wonderful Palliative Care Unit.
