Willy and I survived high school together and did a lot of curling together as kids. Bill, my brother Lorne, Jim Spinney and I got into young man trouble together which means we had a wonderful time. Once I moved back to the city again, Willy, Lorne, Jim and I would coffee occasionally and revisit old times..
Willy was a great guy and a tremendous amount of fun to be with. We curled in a high school bonspiel in North Battleford and were destitute as Lorne had dropped our bottle of booze while flipping it around. We pooled our cash to buy beer and decided Willy looked the oldest (and the bravest) and sent him off to the pub off sale. They said he was too young and threw him out. Willy came back mad as heck and said, Lorne lend me your glasses. He put Lorne's glasses on and went in the back door and successfully got us beer. We had a happy bonspiel. None of us involved will ever forget that memory.
Lorne and I send our heart felt condolences to all the family. Billy was a wonderful dude. Lorne and I will never forget him

All my sympathy to the family of Billy. He was a friend, mentor and golf buddy. So many times he would share something that made you think hours later, hmmmm, he's so right.
I will miss you Billy

I am proud to have been able to call Bill a friend. I had known him for several years and he was a proud member of the Shamrock Group, Billy always had a smile and was always there willing to help with whatever had to be done. Bill didn't join A.A. he lived the program. I know a day has not gone by that I did not think of him. Words are not able to express how much he will be missed.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family and friends.
