Obituary of Doreen Beryl Ramsay

Born October 1, 1929 at Cadillac Sk. Passed away May 3, 2018 at Watson Sk.  Doreen attended grade school in Cadillac and graduated from High School at Ponteix, Sk. After graduation, she moved to Regina and worked as a telephone operator where she met the love of her life, Ken Ramsay. From Regina they moved to Saskatoon, where they had their two children; Beverly and Mervyn. Their next home was Birch Hills, after which they moved to Prince Albert making this their home until they moved to Humboldt in 1967. While in Prince Albert, Doreen worked once again as a telephone operator, a job she loved, where she made many good friends. During her time in Prince Albert, Doreen loved to go camping and fishing with her family and Don and Lois Pryce and their family, with whom she had a life long friendship. After moving to Humboldt, Doreen and Ken traveled extensively around the world and on their 50th wedding anniversary they took a cruise around the world. Later they bought a winter home in Mesa Arizona where they went for a number of years making great friends and memories. In her later life, they sold their home, residing at Caleb Village until her final move to Quill Plains Centennial Lodge. Doreen is predeceased by her parents; Isaac (Ike) and Mabel Kendall, brothers Ken (Vivien), Ray (Carol), and Nap (Betty), mother-in-law Ramonde Ramsay, brothers-in-law Hal, Albert and Don, and sister-in-law Evelyn Beaudry. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Ken, her children; Beverly Roy (Gene Pfleger) and their family; Aaron (Wilma), Alison and Graham; Jason (Daniel); Trevor Maj Pfleger (Carla), Aulden, Owen and Niles; Gina (Duc) Pflegervu; Tamzen (Rory) Gowan.  Son, Mervyn (Naomi) and their family; Tammi (Craig) and Michelle; Rona (Cal) and Kiana; Tina (Steve), Cole and Daniel; Carla (David) and Corbin. Sister-in-law Shirley Dawson, U.S.A. as well as many nieces and nephews. A Luncheon will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Quill Plains Centennial Lodge Building Fund (400 - 3rd Ave North, Watson, SK, S0K 4V0)
