Dear Betty,
I am so very sad to learn that you and your family has lost Tom. You were hugely important in my young life, Betty - a mentor, and warm and supportive friend. While I didn't know Tom, I am quite sure you were a wonderful team, mentors to many young people, and committed to a sustainable agriculture and rural life. Based on my own recent experience, one of the most difficult life experiences is to lose your partner and soulmate. May your dear family and friends help you through this very difficult period.
