Leslie Henry Pope Born in Rosthern, Saskatchewan August 18, 1938. Passed away in Saskatoon, December 14, 2016. Leslie’s early life was centered in the hamlet of Lewvan, Saskatchewan. He attended Teachers College in Saskatoon and graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a B.Ed. in 1961 with a major in English and a B.A. in 1964. His musical appreciation and talents on the organ and piano have been enjoyed by generations. He willingly served as a pipe organist and in the choir for St. Timothy’s Anglican church for over 30 years. His love of nature, the outdoors and animals was always apparent in the pride of his large home garden. Geraniums were cultivated annually and carefully displayed at the front. Blue jay and all feathered friends would find homes year around in the back yard and there was always a family dog in the house. Les is lovingly remembered by his wife Marion, his son Marshall & Melissa (Lucas & Erin); his son Doug & Christina (Evan); his sister Faye Strong & Gerda Franssen and family, Linda & Kevin Friend (Conor, Ali and Hannah) and Graham & Suzanne Strong (Kyle & Mackenzie); his nephew Harold Schimanowsky and Glenn Schimanowsky.
