Obituary of Hilda Muriel McDonald
Hilda Muriel McDonald passed away September 25, 2016. Hilda was born in Victoria, grew up and was educated in Moose Jaw. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Eleanor McDonald, her sisters and brothers-in-law, Nora Crichton (Arthur) and Audrey Ring (Cecil). Hilda began her career with Canadian Pacific Railways in the telegraph office, retiring from CNCP Telecommunications after serving in offices in Moose Jaw, Regina and Saskatoon having mastered decades of change in communication technology.
Hilda was an accomplished needle-worker and active member of St. James and then Emmanuel Anglican Church. Hilda’s longstanding friendships, some made through her many years of volunteering with the Saskatoon Cancer Centre were very important to her, along with her many companions at the Ilarion residence. Hilda kept the threads of her extended family close, following the activities of her nieces and nephews with joy. Hilda is survived by her nieces and nephews, Diane and Bud Rosenberg, Lesley and Phil Smith, Gail Campbell, Laurienne Ring and Dale Clark, Brian Ring and Janice Crichton Patterson and many grand-nieces and nephews.
