Obituary of Gulshan Kochar
Gulshan Kochar
January 15, 1947 – January 5, 2018
It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Gulshan Kochar, on the morning of Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK. Gulshan nourished people around her with love, faith and the best Indian food in town. Her children’s friends also called her “Mom”, and the sign she kept in her kitchen that read “Mom’s kitchen – open 24 hours” was often tested. Her biggest pride and joy in life was her family, and her special bond with her grandchildren. They loved to play games with her and she would always make time for them. Her other biggest joy was cooking, and was known for her famous achaar (pickles). Gulshan was extremely talented in sewing and knitting and made numerous beautiful clothing for her family. Gulshan is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Om; son, Nayak (Erica) and their children; son, Naqsh (Mabel) and their children; daughter, Namarta as well as numerous family members in India. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the RUH for the care provided to Gulshan while in the hospital. Gulshan was, and always will be, loved and sadly missed. Jai Mata Di.
