Obituary of Sharon Margaret Raeburn

Sharon Raeburn

Nov 17, 1943 - June 22, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce Sharon passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 22, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer

Sharon is predeceased by her mother and father, Martha and Maurice Scissons and her brother, Maurice Scissons.

Sharon leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 52 years Leigh, two daughters, Michelle (Dean) Polowick and Jaymie (Stu) Zary, both of Saskatoon; three grandchildren, who made everyday special for her, Alyssa and Brayden Polowick and Autumn Zary.  Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sharon was raised in Saskatoon and attended Bedford Road Collegiate for high school then began her career at Sasktel.  She married the love of her life, Leigh, on August 5, 1972 then started a family soon after.  Sharon stayed home for many years to raise her girls before returning to work with the Government of Saskatchewan, then ultimately retiring in 2010. 

Throughout her life, her family was her priority and source of joy.  Sharon and Leigh enjoyed travelling together to many places.  The Yukon, annual trips south for the winter and family trips to Waskesiu each summer.  She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sports and other activities.

Sharon will be missed but remembered and celebrated daily by her family.  Sharon would not want tears but only celebrations for her life well lived.

A celebration of life and interment at the Columbarium were held with her immediate family as per Sharons wishes on June 28, 2024.
