Obituary of Elsie Chestolowski
Elsie Chestolowski (nee Kowalski)
January 15, 1931 – April 19, 2024
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Elsie Chestolowski. She was born and raised in Whitkow, SK. It was at the wedding of their two siblings, she met her future husband, Steve. They were married on January 12, 1952 and recently celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary. They raised their three girls in Saskatoon and spent most of their spare time taking them camping. Their love of “lake life” shaped their retirement. They moved into their cabin that Dad built at Wakaw Lake and spent their summers golfing and enjoying time with family and friends. They spent their winters in California where mom took up quilting. She loved the challenge of it and has left many pieces for us to treasure. She also loved to be with their friends playing cards, going to dances or just having coffee. She had a full, wonderful life and we know how lucky we are to have had her for so long.
She will be forever loved by her husband Steve; her daughters, Brenda (Larry), Janet (Dale) and Lynn (Doug); her grandchildren; Tricia (Ken), Tara (Rick), Crystal (Darrin), Jarid (Jill) and Lisa (Stephen) and her great-grandchildren; Caitlyn, Cara, Derrick, Dawson, Taylor, Talia, Skylar, Charlie, Connor and Brexley. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings. She will be missed, every day.
We are very grateful to the Palliative Care staff at St. Paul’s for their kindness. At her request, there will be no service. Donations to honor Elsie, in lieu of flowers, can be directed to the SPCA or the charity of your choice. Arrangements are entrusted to the Saskatoon Funeral Home.
