Obituary of Katherine Pitka

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother; Katherine Agnes (Bustin) Pitka on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Porteous Lodge in Saskatoon, Sk. She leaves to mourn her five children: Gerald (Aileen) Pitka, Karen (Terry) Gusikoski, Janet (Gary) Moore, Denise Faulkner (Greg) Provo and Wayne (Holly) Pitka as well as 14 grandchildren and 19 great grand children. Also left to mourn are her sister Josie Krammer of Abbotsford, B.C.; and Frieda (Lawrence) Moline of Beaverdell, B.C. Katherine was predeceased by her husband, Florian Charles Pitka in 2010 and her parents, three brothers and one grand daughter. Katherine was always considered the perfect wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always placed others wishes and needs before her own. She was very sensitive, caring and enjoyed sharing her multiple talents to help others. Katherine loved nothing more than to spend time cooking for her family and friends. She was a meticulous housekeeper, gardener, tailor, and truly loved her flower beds. You never left her house without having a fantastic meal, a hug and a kiss. Mom's extended family were all treated as her own. Each and every one of them loved her as their own mother. That's' how special she was! It's easy to see why these people had so much love and devotion toward her. We are left to wonder how she managed to accomplish so many things in her own life while still taking the time to do so much for others. That has always been a specialty of yours; mother. We feel such respect and pride for you and all that you have done. That is why we all hope that there is more than just a little of you in all of us. Mom; we love you, we know you love us Rest in peace, you certainly deserve it. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to The Alzheimer Society Of Saskatchewan. 1405 Faulkner Cres, Saskatoon, SK S7L 3R5. Special thanks to all the staff at Porteous Lodge 833 Ave. P North, Saskatoon. They demonstrated their commitment to look after our mother in a respectful and dignified manner. Your efforts did not go unnoticed. Thank You.
