Irene was someone that I “knew of” for years, before ever meeting her in-person.
In the past, I had judged at the Estevan summer fairs.
I was always impressed with the quality & beauty of Irene’s entries in the quilt/needlework competitions.
Decades later, we finally met in Saskatoon & became friends.
At last I was delighted to tell her why her pieces won 1st prize.
She was an artist – her tool a sharp needle!
My condolences to all family members.
