Obituary of Kelly Lee Reid

It is with great sadness that the family announces the untimely passing of Kelly Lee Reid. Kelly was born in North Battleford, SK. on June 9, 1963, and passed away surrounded by loved ones on March 17, 2024 in Saskatoon, SK. Survived by his wife, Gayle; daughter, Kelly Leigh (Jordan) and proud grandpa to Emmett and Kya; brother, Garry (Pam); sisters, Sheila (Jon), Melanie (David) and Lana (Brad); sisters-in-law, Maralyn, Lee, Cindy and Melanie; and stepfather, Philip. Also survived by his stepmother, Gloria; and stepsiblings, Paula, Paul, Patti, Penny and Peter and their families; his uncle, Jim; aunty, Dianne; as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and good friends (some of them lifelong). Kelly was predeceased by his mother, Dona Jane Froese (2022); his father, Garry Lee Reid (2023); and mother-in-law, Mary Friesen (2005).

Kelly was a lifelong Habs fan, which often came with some razzing, but he always remained true. He loved nature and animals of all kinds and had a special love for rescue animals. Along with his wife Gayle, he adopted many cats and dogs throughout their life together. He took great pride in being a longtime volunteer with We All Need a Rescue K9 Sanctuary where he made so many human and dog friends. Kelly was known and will be remembered as a caring, kind, and gentle soul.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Renee Kennedy, St. Paul’s Hospital Palliative Care team and the special Angels at The Hospice at Glengarda.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Saskatoon Funeral Home – 338 4th Ave North on Sunday, March 24th, at 2:00 p.m. We invite you to wear your favourite hockey jersey (Bruins fans…maybe wear your jerseys inside out).
