Obituary of Phyllis Elizabeth Lypka

Phyl was born on May 25, 1935 and passed away on June 10, 2016 at Extendicare Saskatoon at the age of 81 years. Phyl is survived by her loving husband, John; daughter, Wendy Anderson (Dave); daughter, Becky Lypka and children - Jesse and Jolene; son, Ken (Val) - and children Karin, Morgan, Kiefer, and Nolan; great nephews, Stephen and Rick Wilton. She is predeceased by her parents, David and Edna Whyte; sister, Marion Minchen; nephew, Barrie Minchen and niece, Judy Wilton. Phyl was born at Salmon Arm, BC and she met her husband John while working at YOHO National Park in Field, BC. Mom loved to knit, play crib and watch CFL football. In her younger years, Phyl loved to curl. She had a keen interest in bookkeeping and was very organized in all she did. Phyl was a member of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, where she participated in the Prayer Shawl Group. A very big thank you to the Ilarion Residence and the Saskatoon Health Region for their care over the years and more recently Extendicare - all very professional staff and extremely competent.

Funeral

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2016 at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church (10 Grosvenor Cres.). Committal will take place at St. John’s Columbarium.
