Deepest sympathy, love and condolences to family and friends of our dear Fr. Bon Bon. Was he still known that way??
I met Fr. B in the ‘60’s in Saskatoon.
My earliest memory is of celebration of the sacrament of reconciliation in his cosy little living room at Canadien Martyrs. A blend of soft classical music and gentle affirming words of Gods mercy and compassion. Still grateful for that moment. Many blessed moments and encounters over the years.
A life well-lived and devoted to God’s many unique persons. Rejoice, my friend, in your eternal reward.

In a dark moment, as Fr. Bernard and I attended to the last hours of a mutual friend, I was deeply troubled. And he could sense my distress. As I neared breaking down, I looked into those warm and comforting eyes, to hear him say: "Courage mon ami ... courage." I knew then, I was in the presence of a man of God ... and through him, found the courage to press on in honouring our friend. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon him. À la prochaine, cher Bernard.

I am sending my sympathy and joy in regard to Father Bernard. He has been a tremendous blessing for me. In 1965 he helped my future husband Albert, and myself sort out the possibility of marriage. Albert was Presbyterian and I , Ukrainian Catholic. Albert came from Scotland and was very uncomfortable with the thought of talking to a priest. In those days the "Orange" (protestants) and "Green" (Catholics) were not friends to put it mildly! Fr. Bernard was referred to us. My Greek Catholic Church did not use English at any services yet. I wanted my future husband to understand what we were promising at the ceremony.
All went well and we were grateful for his classes and marriage ceremony. He came to our home to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and took part in my husbands funeral service.
I am grateful for his ministry and inclusiveness of all.
May he be blessed to the fullest. "Eternal Memory"
