Obituary of Michael David Young

Our family is saddened to announce the passing of Michael David Young on February 23rd, 2024. Mike will be missed dearly, and the memories of him will be cherished forever by those who loved him. His departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound and it is gravely felt by his entire family, and countless others who loved him deeply.

Born April 13th, 1984, to Don and Cheryl Young, Mike was the baby of the family. His sisters Jenn and Andy couldn't wait to meet their little brother. Growing up, Mike was an adventurous kid who loved to be out in the neighborhood playing with his friends. He would run in the house and announce he had to "eat fast as alphaghetti" so he could get back out to play. He loved Lego, Ghostbusters, Monopoly, his bike and the Mario brothers. We have many fond family memories of times at our family cabin at Turtle Lake and Candle Lake, grandparents' home in Unity, the pool in Montgomery, and trips to England for dad's work.

Some of the amazing qualities that define Mike are his beautiful personality, and his banter and witty sense of humor. He was intelligent, dignified and proud. Mike had a very impactful presence, and he truly touched the lives of those in it.

It is a comfort for our family knowing that Michael is in a better place with his father Don.

Michael was deeply loved and will be missed by his mother Cheryl, his sisters Andy and Jenn and extended family and friends.

A private celebration of life will take place at a later date.
