Sharlotte Marie Saley
On Friday March 1st, 2024, Sharlotte Marie Saley, loving wife, mother of two children, and grandmother to four children, passed away suddenly at the age of 73.
Sharlotte was born in Kamsack, Saskatchewan on February 18th, 1951 to parents Irene and David Becking. Sharlotte was raised in the town of Runnymede, Saskatchewan, where she also attended public school, and high school in Kamsack.
In the fall of 1968, Sharlotte moved to Yorkton, Saskatchewan where she worked a very short time as a waitress, then started an apprenticeship job as a hairstylist. Soon after Sharlotte attended the Pollock School of Cosmetology in Winnipeg, and on graduation she resumed her employment as a hairstylist in Yorkton.
In the early summer of 1969, Sharlotte met Ivan Saley in Yorkton, and on August 15th,1970, they were married in Kamsack.
Sharlotte had her first daughter Dina on April 5th, 1974, and then her daughter Tracy on December 17th, 1975.
In November of 1994, Sharlotte moved with her husband Ivan, to Saskatoon where she worked as a self-employed hairstylist.
Sharlotte enjoyed camping, curling, and tending to her daughters’ activities, figure skating, softball, and dance. Sharlotte also enjoyed summer vacations to Clear Lake, and occasional winter vacations to Mexico.
Sharlotte retired in 2016 and spent her time homemaking, visiting with family and friends, and attending the many activities of her grandchildren.
Sharlotte was predeceased by her parents Irene and David Becking, and three siblings, Kelly Becking, Doug (Dianne) Becking, and Darlene (Sam) Boychuk.
She is survived by her husband Ivan; two daughters, Dina (Geoff) Rathgaber, Tracy (Greg) Kozak; four grandchildren Alexa and Addison Rathgaber, Hailey and Braeden Kozak, all of Saskatoon; three siblings, Orville (Janice) Becking of Snow Lake, Manitoba, Sherry (Trevor) McCuaig of Bengough, Saskatchewan, and Kathy (Don) Starchuk of Saskatoon; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the first responders, paramedics, Royal University Hospital Emergency physician, and above all the long term care staff at Porteous Lodge and Sherbrooke Community Center for the hard work and the care they provided to Sharlotte.
