Obituary of Yvette Alice O'Keefe

Yvette Alice O’Keefe 1935 - 2016 It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Yvette Alice O’Keefe (Benoit), at the age of 81. Yvette passed away peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital on June 3, 2016, with family by her side. Yvette was born in St. Louis, SK on February 12, 1935 to parents Wilfred and Marie Benoit (Giesbrecht). She moved to Saskatoon as a young child and this is where she continued to reside for the majority of her life and raised her family. Yvette is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Lloyd O’Keefe, her sister Evelyn (Greig) Homstol, sister-in-law Faye Benoit and by her children: Dan O’Keefe, Laura Bellamy (Bryan), Pat Deuchar (Tracy), Tim O’Keefe (Lynn) and Donna Penner (Dennis). Also left to mourn are grandchildren: Chris (Janell), Brad (Taralee), Brendan (Tracy), Ryan (Amber), Lisa (Nick), Michelle (Devan), Tracy (Mark), Sheena, Kelly, Shawn, Jarod and Tyler as well as 9 great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Yvette was predeceased by her parents, her brother Charles Benoit and sister-in-law Lorette Benoit. Family was everything to Yvette and she loved when we were all together. Many summers were spent at the lake fishing, swimming, playing cards, golfing, and enjoying the company of friends and family. Yvette was the happiest when we were all together enjoying one another’s company. We are thankful that this was able to take place several times over the last several months as this truly lifted her spirits and brought her joy. She will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank all our friends and extended families who reached out to all of us during this difficult time. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Myles Deutscher and the staff at St. Paul’s Hospital, 5th floor, for the care they provided to our wife/mother and compassion shown to our family
