Obituary of Agness Olson

Agness Catherine Magalla Olson It is with sadness that the family of Agness Olson (nee Ronald) announce her passing on May 30, 2016. Mother was born on October 13, 1932 in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, the first Canadian in her family. After high school she began working as a dental hygienist. Soon after she met and married Carl Edward Olson from MacDowall, Saskatchewan. Carl’s career as a bank manager led to many moves to locations such as Moosomin, Regina, Perdue, Indian Head, Melville, Yorkton, and Saskatoon. Throughout her lifetime Agness worked at various jobs and locations including Doctor Plant and Donna’s Demo. She even oversaw the building of the Alsask golf course! She also volunteered her time at the Church, as well as in support of her children’s activities. Those who met Agness will remember her for her wit, outspokenness, and her smiling eyes. Agness was predeceased by her parents James and Mary- Ann Ronald, sister Teresa LaRoche, husband Carl, brother-in-laws Wilfred LaRoche, John Olson, Pat Olson, Bill Thorimbert and long-time family friend Richard Wilkinson. She is survived by Catherine (Lyle), Mary-Ann (Andre), Timothy (Deb), granddaughter Joyce, and long-time Family Friend Dorothy Wilkinson, sister-in-laws Helen & Jean, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mother, we thank you for your love, support, and sacrifices you made for us.

Funeral

The Mass of Christian Burial for Agness will be celebrated at St. Phillips Neri Parish 1902 Munroe Avenue on Monday June 6th at 10:30am. A private interment will take place at a later date.
